I recently referenced that “I write about the transformative power of an unscripted life.” Oftentimes it feels like I’m screaming senselessly into the void with no echo. Maybe I am, but it feels good to me. I’m learning that’s the point of being an artist. The personal transformation and working toward my goal.
I want to clarify unscripted with this excerpt:
“When I travel, I like to go off script. In fact, I actually prefer to travel completely sans script whenever possible. When I traveled with Paula, she expected me to craft the itinerary and she would go along with mostly anything I pitch. Of course, there’s a general expectation of where we’re going: the flights booked, the city, the language, the hotel or holiday rental arranged ahead of time, and whether or not we are renting a car. If we’re not renting a car, I pre-explore how we are going to rely on mass transit and what our options are. I usually had a rough understanding of the general framework of the trip, but I didn’t schedule a detailed itinerary in advance. I tend to roll with it and see what happens, like rolling the dice in a Vegas craps game. I want to win big, but celebrating the hard eights and other gamblers’ winnings along the way is just as much fun for me.
I heard a quote on the Friends reunion special, that when the actors went off script, that was where the magic really materialized. I believe this completely. Some of the best magic happens unscripted if you let it.“
My stance is that neither can be classed to be better than. I’m a fan of off script, maybe because my life’s evolution hasn’t always allowed for following any one idea or concept through to the end. So my fangirl state is a learned existence. I wonder if I could learn to follow my lines?

Doubtful, but I’m willing to try anything once. Just like we staged this silly timed photo back in the summer of 2006 at Poppi Castle in Tuscany!
